• Get to know our Paster, Rev. Dr. Dennis Swineford

    . A native of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Dennis was baptized into the fellowship of Grace United Methodist Church as an infant. Through the nurture of that congregation, he came to embrace
    the call of Jesus Christ, first to a life of personal discipleship, and later, to a call to full-time
    pastoral ministry. Ordained a Deacon in 1981 and an Elder in 1984, he holds a BA from Asbury
    College, an M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Pittsburgh Theological
    Seminary in Stewardship Studies. Last year, he "retired" after 43 years of service as an
    ordained minister in the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference. He has served rural, urban,
    and suburban congregations beginning with the Titusville Bethel Charge, Sharpsburg, and
    Millvale, Cabot, Bradford First, and Bakerstown. In 2018, he was appointed

    as the District Superintendent of the Erie Meadville District.

    He served as the Spiritual Formation Director of the Cabinet.
    Throughout his ministry, Dennis has focused on pastoral care, preaching, and congregational
    vision and mission development. He has also been active in various community organizations in
    the places where he has served including: Volunteer Fire departments, Rotary Clubs, and local
    Ministerial Associations.

    Dennis enjoys recreational jogging, bicycling, hiking, and fishing as hobbies.

    In 1979, he married his soul-mate, the former Deborah Bailey, a daughter of a United Methodist minister from the Florida Annual Conference. As a couple, they enjoy camping, traveling, reading books and serving God’s people in mission.
